Op 7 en 8 mei 2016 openden Berlijners gastvrij hun huizen voor de eerste editie van Denkmal am Ort, op initiatief van kunstenaarscollectief KUBIN.

Op 16 locaties luisteren en keken meer dan 500 bezoekers  naar vertellers, muziek en tentoonstellingen waarmee gebeurtenissen op de locatie herdacht werden en de levens van vroegere bewoners in herinnering geroepen werden.

 

 

 

 

Artist Jani Pietsch (KUBIN)  researched the history of her house and found many documents in the archives about the families that lived in their house.

About 100 documents she hanged from the ceiling in the living room. Visitors walked through it like in a “labyrinth”, and also could take the documents off to read them sitting on a chair.
